Q: Is the Palisades Learning Center approved by the State Department of Education?
A: The Palisades Learning Center is approved by the New Jersey State Department of Education to educate children who are classified as having behavioral disabilities.

Q: What is the age of students who attend the school?
A: The Palisades Learning Center is a High School, accepting students in grades 9-12.

Q: How is a student referred to The Palisades Learning Center?
A: The Child Study Team of the school district in which the student resides makes referral.

Q: Who pays the tuition for the student?
A: The school district in which the student resides pays the tuition.

Q: How is the student transported to The Palisades Learning Center, and who pays for the transportation?
A: The school district in which the student resides is responsible for providing and paying for the transportation.

Q: Can a parent/guardian place a student privately?
A: A parent/guardian can place a student privately, but, in that case, the parent/guardian is responsible for tuition and transportation.

Q: Can a student earn a High School Diploma at The Palisades Learning Center?
A: A student can earn the high school credits at The Palisades Learning Center, and these credits are applied to is/her transcript; but, upon completion of the required credits, the school district in which the student resides will issue the diploma.

Q: Does The Palisades Learning Center provide counseling?
A: Counseling is provided to all of our students on an individual and group basis by our certified social workers and school psychologist.

Q: Does the school offer career education and transition services?
A: The Palisades Learning Center has its own Career Education Center administered by our Director of Guidance. The center also houses our Technology Laboratory and our Career Evaluation Unit.

Q: Does the school provide a free lunch?
A: The Palisades Learning Center does not provide a free lunch; however, a student may bring his/her own lunch or purchase lunch from a limited menu. A student may also purchase a limited menu lunch.
